Since January 2009, Dong Soo Chin has served as Chairman of the Financial Services Commission.  He entered this position from the Export-Import Bank of Korea, where he was Chairman and President.  Mr. Chin has held a number of positions in the areas of finance, internationals affairs and economic policy, including CEO of the Public Procurement Service and both Vice Minister and Deputy Minister for International Affairs at the Ministry of Finance and Economy (MOFE).  At the World Bank, he was an Alternate Executive Director and an Officer in the International Finance Corporation.  At the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), he served as Standing Commissioner as well as Director-General of the Financial Restructuring Task Force.  Mr. Chin had a long tenure at the Ministry of Finance (MOF), where he was Director of the Real-Name Financial Transaction System Task Force for the Overseas Investment Division and Deputy Director of the Finance Bureau.  He holds a bachelor’s degree from the College of Law at Seoul National University and a master’s degree in development economics from Boston University.
