Kyung Sun, director of the Korea Artificial Organ Center and a professor in Korea University’s Department of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery Center, earned his M.D. in 1981.  After a cardiothoracic residency, Sun served as a military surgeon before completing his M.S. and Ph. D.  He has held teaching positions at Kurume University in Japan, Indiana University in the United States, and Inha University in South Korea.  Sun’s research interests include electromechanical artificial organs, especially artificial heart and convergence technology based on mechanical circulatory devices, as well as hospital management and business.
